Community Food Center
Houses of Mercy has a couple of on going community projects.
-First there is a faith based community food center which serves
one of the poorer districts of our city. We are experiencing an
increase in the number of people who are accessing the food
center. We are not a food bank and encourage people to use our
local food bank with the understanding that we are serving as a
top up until their next visit to our local food bank.
We are completely dependant on the donations given to us of either
non-perishable food items or money. We try to make everything
we receive go as far as it can in serving our community.

-Secondly we are working with The Well-Come Inn, which is a
new faith based initiative that is helping the homeless to acquire
basic skills through their transitional housing program, their
teaching and counseling assists each individual to work
towards becoming independent in the community.
